Appointments Online is now open for trial use. You can now signup for a patient account with the demo practice and use the service with the available test data. Some things to note when using this trial access to the service:

  • Appointments Online uses SSL to ensure that the connection between your web browser and the central server is secure and cannot be eavesdropped or tampered with. However the test server that the demo practice is running on uses what is called a temporary certificate because no real life data is held on the test server. This temporary certificate will generate an error in the client browser to the effect that the signing certificate authority is unknown and not trusted. This is not a problem and can be safely ignored. On the production service the SSL certificate will be bone fide and this message will not be generated.

  • Your request to signup for the Appointments Online service will be automatically approved for the demo practice. You should receive an approval email within one hour of making your request. You will receive either restricted access or full access to the service - the automatic approval process will select one option at random. In real life of course this automatic approval would not happen and instead it would require manual approval by a member of the practice's staff for a patient to gain access to the service.

  • The demo practice is reset at the beginning of each week. This deletes all of the test data, including your trial patient account, and reloads the data from scratch. The net effect of this is that you will need to signup for a new patient account every week that you want to use the demo.

So please sign up for a trial patient account and let us know what you think.
